Microdrive
Micromar developed an exclusive microdrive adapter for Alpha Omega system: one of the most versatile microdrive systems available in the market, specially developed for localization and identification of targets in the surgical treatment.
Efficient and easy-to-use, it has a control that allows the remote handling of its main functions (also electrode advance and retrocession via Microdrive). It also has tools for reading and interpretation of physiology, trajectories reports and neurological activities, all gathered in just one user-friendly screen.
Among its main use indications there are the ablatives treatments for Parkinson and movement disorders as: Thalamotomy (VIM lesion), Pallidotomy (GPI lesion) and Subthalamotomy (STN lesion); and neuromodulation treatments of the Subthalamic Nucleus (STN), Globus Pallidus Internus (GPi) and Thalamus (VIM). Nowadays it's been often used for neuromodulation and ablative treatments for Obsessive-compulsive disorder and epilepsy, especially of the Cingulate Gyrus and Anterior Thalamus.
